Here we have the first joint release of four countries.
V4 - The Vyšehrad Four is a regional grouping of four countries in the heart of Europe: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. Its goal is mutual cooperation in ensuring the stability of the intra-European region and support in European integration.
V4 was originally established as V3 in Vyšehrad on February 15, 1991, by the signing of a mutual declaration on cooperation by Hungarian Prime Minister József Antall, President, at that time, of the Czechoslovak Federal Republic, Václav Havel, and Polish President Lech Walesa. After the division of Czechoslovakia, there was a change from V3 to V4.
The model for this alliance was the agreement on the cooperation of three important kings from 1335. The Hungarian king Karol I. Robert, the Czech king John of Luxemburg and the Polish king Casimir III The Great concluded an important political and economic cooperation agreement in Vyšehrad.
After the accession of the countries to the European Union on May 1, 2004, the importance and activity of the Vyšehrad Four increased. The V4 is always chaired by one of the countries for one year.
The author of the motif is the talented artist Adrian Ferda, who after the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts and the Pedagogical Superstructure worked in various advertising agencies, first as a production graphic artist, and later as the head of the graphics department. Since 2009, he has been working as a graphic artist and artist for the Postal Philatelic Service (POFIS), where he designs occasional stamps, various collectibles and the design of book publications, where he has won many awards. In addition to this work, he is engaged in illustration, publication design and free painting.
