On the rare, unusual, exceptional occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the well-known Slovak painter Oľga Bartošíková, originally from Holíč na Záhorí, where she was born on August 16, 1922, the City of Holíč is preparing the publication of a Euro Souvenir with her likeness and at the same time her author's exhibition in exhibitions and expositions premises of the Holíč Castle. The release of the Euro Souvenir and the opening took place on July 20, 2022.
Academic painter Oľga Bartošíková studied at AVU in Prague under professor Ján Želibský in the years 1945-1950, while since 1957 she has been permanently living and working in Bratislava. In the years 1952-1957 she was a member of the Prague Art Forum and in the years 1958-1967 a member of Group 4.
Her nonstop, continuous sixty-five years of developing painting work moves in a wide creative arc from expressionist beginnings in the depiction of figurative subjects through abstract, non-representative approaches with special attention to the materiality of structures, to returns to figurative work after 1969 with a special hyper realistic, photographic approach in the depiction of still lives, but also of figures, ending with gentle, meditative approaches in the depiction of windows, still lives and old architecture, especially interiors, which are spiritually close to the author.
After its premiere in Holíč in July 2022, the jubilee exhibition of painting work by Oľga Bartošíková was repeated in August in the Záhorská gallery of J. Koniarka in Senica and in November in Bratislava.
The intention of organizing the jubilee exhibition of the painter consists in the presentation of her lifelong painting work in a time span of sixty-five years.
The cultural significance of the banknote issued for the exhibition and jubilee is anchored in the presentation of painting work, but also in the necessary permanent fixation of expert knowledge about the author's painting work, together with its inclusion in the overall context of current artistic tendencies in our country, as it is a well-known Slovak artist with many years of continuous creative activity.
