0 Euro Souvenir JÁNOŠIK'S DAYS, 60TH ANNIVERSARY and JÁNOŠIK'S DAYS, CARRIAGE PROCESSION
On the occasion of the 60th jubilee year of the International Terchovské Days Folklore Festival, Akad. mal. Stanislav Lajda created proposals for the next two editions dedicated to the village of Terchová and its unique surroundings.
The first one is a tribute to Terchovská folk music, so typical for this unique region. In 2013, folk music from Terchová was registered among the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. Musicians, inheriting this art from generation to generation, use as musical instruments most often violins / in the past often home-made, performers often unconventionally held to their chests/, bass, accordion, an extremely long flute “fujara”, flutes, etc. Local musicians have already presented their art with great success around the world. Terchovská music creates joy and energy, with which the people made their hard life and work in the mines pleasant. The tradition of Terchovská music goes deep into the past, and new generations of Terchov residents are dedicated to it together with dance. The regulars in the group and active cultural workers who spread the good name of Terchová far beyond its borders include the artist, folk storyteller and musician Fero Mucha / second from the left / and musician, event organizer and director of MKS in Terchová Rudolf Patrnčiak / fourth from the left /. But the tribute belongs to all those who make others happy through music and dance. In the background, the author depicted one of the most imposing hills of Slovakia, so characteristic of the given region - Veľký and Malý Rozsutec (Big and Small Rozsutec).
The second design depicts a characteristic horse-drawn carriage procession of a double team of horses pulling allegorical carriages – so-called “rebrňáky”. They are decorated with young conifer trees, flowers and crepe paper ribbons. Coachmen standing on carriages in striking costumes lead their team from Terchová through the beautiful Tiesňavská strait towards Vrátna and Štefanová. Bizarre rocks on the slopes resemble colossal sculptures. This is also why individual rock formations were given names such as Monk, Camel, etc.
Both designs are complemented by the long-used Terchovské days logo by Akad. mal. Miroslav Cipár, with a typical Jánošík's shepherd's axe and a shepherd's hat.
We believe that the new edition will not only be a sought-after collector's artifact, an atypical souvenir of the Terchovské days, but will also be an advertisement and invitation for people who do not yet know this beautiful part of Slovakia.
